I think you should really avoid the bike until you've seen a specialist/consultant and discussed this with them

It could be an effect of drugs you're using, or it may be the case that your heart attack was so serious, the heart can no longer pump blood sufficiently.
  • Well I seen a specialist about 2 weeks ago after I did a tred mill test the test went ok but after I stop my blood pressure drop to 93/52 so they told to rest for 20 mins for it go back to normal I did ask if this ok and they said yes but my doctor want to see the result when I have the echo scan done on the 5 of oct to see if there's a problem. When I had my heart attack part left hand side of heart die this is the part that pump the oxgen blood a round the body so they just want to if there's any more damage to the heart. But my doctor said that as long as I don't push my self to hard that I be ok

In honesty, if you're feeling faint or ready to black out, then you must be pushing it too much.

Maybe shorter less intense rides will keep you fit and active, without dropping your blood pressure dangerously.

I'd definately the gp at least.
  • I was not pushing to just relax riding some times I been ride up a 13% climb with no problem but this time I was on a 1% rise I had It happen on my turbo trainer I hope they find some wrong when I have the echo scan because I am getting fed up with it now and it's not the meds because I had to stop the beta blockers when I did they tread mill test and it drop after that

What medications are you on though? Are you properly hydrated?
  • The meds I am are ramipril 2.5 mg , aspirin 75 mg , atorvastatin 80mg ,bisoprolol fumarate 2.5 mg, isosorbide mononitrate 10mg, omacor capsules 1000mg all are taken one a day and yes I was well hydrated

That's a lot of anti hypertensives! Blood pressure can naturally drop when we get hot as our veins expand to lose heat. Add into that that some of your meds dilate arteries too then no womder you are experiences periods of low blood pressure.

I would talk to the doctor again. It acn take a while to get a good combo of BP meds, as I found out, and did have the same problem.
  • Well I been on the meds for just over a year now but my doctor has lowered the bisoprolol fumarate from 5 mg to 2.5mg because about 2 month's ago when my gp checked my blood pressure it was 94/60/49 he did not like that my heart rate was so low as well . But like i said i had to stop taking the bisoprolol fumarate for 2 days when i do the tred mill test and after that my blood pressure dropped

Ramipril is pretty potent too, I remember taking that - my BP would drop to 80/50 at night. isosorbide mononitrate is a strong vasodilator.
  • I'am just waiting now till the 5 oct for a echo scan to see if there's a more damage to the heart if so i don't now what they do
