  • Hello
I have a 2010 514. Bike climes really well with very little bob with pro pedal and front end remains weighted on steep stuff.

The bottom brackets are not brilliant but easily and cheaply replaced for a better one once worn out, The head set isn't brilliantly sealed too but i just dismantle mine every 4-5 months and wack some grease in seems to do the job.

I have big feet with spd shoes and my heel can when twisted rub a little on the rear drop out area. Worth keeping an eye out for, I fixed this by wrapping some old inner tube round it.

Just had to replace one set of rear Bushes but thats after year and a half of good use in a gritty area.

Only major problem iv had is the rear wheel. Had issues with the XT hub cones coming loose during rides causing damage until it wrote its self off in whales. Hotlines wont warranty it. Front has no such problem and hasn't been serviced yet.

Think that covers it. Hope it helps
  • Thanks I had the same problem with my shimano rear hub as well the only tthing that worries me is the carbon fibre frame is it up to the job and what's the warranty like with them I have seen some of the alloy frame's have cracks in them so it's got me thinking what happens with the carbon frame
  • I suggest using a bit of punctuation, it makes you seem alot more intelligent, and makes things easier to read.

As far as the carbon frames, they have been quite good from my understanding. Was talking with the LBS here, and they havn't had to send back any, and the alloy ones were the problematic ones. Carbon Fibre frame should be quite good, and I've heard amazing things about Lapierre warranties, so could be a good investment!
  • Thanks for you reply
  • Rear half of mine is carbon and no problems so far.

The alloy frame issue was older models and i think it was to do with the reaming tool being to small a diameter so when the BB was pressed in it stressed the frame. I could have just made that up though i dunno.
