Take a look at where the crank arm connect into the frame BB30.

Is this correct or is it missing something?!
I have just noticed its like this, so dust and grime can easilly get in.
But im not sure if its correct or not, as I've just noticed it...

  • Anyone?

I thought there should be some sort of cover or like a spacer type thing to cover where the crank meets the BB30...

Can anyone confirm if it looks correct or am I missing something.
  • Does anyone have a BB30 to compair?!
  • Sweet thanks :)
Just feels like its missing some sort of cover thing.
And it already sounds like dirt is getting in there, as when you pedal you can hear like a light metal or sand scratch...

Maybe try a more descriptive thread title?

BB30 is still a relatively new thing so not everyone on here(including myself) knows what it should look like when assembled correctly etc.

make and model of bike and cranks would be good to as not all BB30come with BB30 BBs.

but I dont see anything wrong with it but then what are we actually looking at?
  • Its a new Cannondale Jekyll 3.
Im not sure on the actual make of the BB30, think its FSA.
And its connected to a FSA Afterburner crank.

    Hope this helps.
  • it looks fine...

Underneath the black preload nut there should be a dust cover.

BB30's aren't very well sealed though.
  • Ok thanks all...
