As in Recommended Retail Price. I'd thought it would be the same wherever you looked and only the actual selling price would vary but its not. For instance a KMC X9-93 in no particular order :-

Retailer RRP. Price
Wiggle. 15.99. 14.39
CRC. 21.99. 18.99
UKbikestore. 19.99. 16.99
Parker int. 19.99. 12.95
Ribble. 21.50. 16.55

is this because it is not Manufacturers RRP and essentially the retailer can decide for themselves what the non-discounted price would be ?

  • RRP is a marketing tool used by unscrupulous web based retailers to make their percentage discounts look better than their competitors.

SRP (Standard Retail Price) is what the manufacturers/wholesalers use as a guide in their catalogues. This should be the same regardless of the store.
I used to just ride my bike to work but now I find myself going out looking for bigger and bigger hills.
