Hello,

My new web-ordered bike has arrived today, and it just requires handlebar and seatpost to be inserted.

Do I need to apply grease to either of these parts before inserting?

Thanks

Antony

Carbon seat post into carbon or metal frame - carbon assembly paste

Aluminim seat post into carbon frame - carbon assembly paste

Aluminim seat post into metal frame - grease or copperslip

Carbon bars and/or stem - carbon assembly paste

aluminium bars and stem - nothing

If pedals are fitted then remove and grease/copperslip before they sieze.
  • OK.

Its a carbon wrap seatpost into aluminium frame.

    Thanks

  • Are they carbon, alu or steel? Seatpost and bars will need a light grease if metal or if carbon they will need (assembly) paste. Don't over do the application of either though. There are torque settings for both components and if you have a torque wrench you should follow those recommended settings. Should be on the manufacturer's website if you can't see them anywhere on the bars/post.
