    Morning bumders

Hungover, getting out of bed in a bit, then pottering about the house for an hour or so sorting a few things out, then Cannock for the day :D

    morning all

i ache a little bit after running 9.35 miles in 1:33:33, still a good training run none the less, i've decided to write a blog about my training for the barcelona marathon next year, only two posts in so far but its good to get it written down as a record for me rather than for anyone else to read it.

this afternoon i might squeeze in a quick blast on the steed before cleaning the house in anticipation of my two best mates arriving for a weekend beer session!

first though, electrical drawings to do!

    peace

More clearing out the garage today and carting loads of stuff off to the dump. Christ it's amazing how much crap you accumulate in a few years without really realising it as it builds up gradually then suddenly you realise the house is full of stuff you don't need/use any more. Feels good having a good turf out though.

Then later its getting bike stuff ready for an early Saturday morning jaunt to Cannock. The weather must have known I was coming as its forecast to rain tomorrow...

supposed to be on a work event tonight with free bar and hotel, followed by a trip to thetford in the morning, but mrs spong now has the lurgy and I've had to cancel.

Therefore my day will consist of work, followed by going home and looking after the wife & kids, then spending the night on the sofa with the farting terrier.

and a warning to anybody out there, if you're going to watch pron on your apple device, make sure you don't accidently save a screen shot to your camera roll. Very embarrasing if you then show your boss pictures of some lovely building work, only to scroll too far and show him stills from 'big wet asses 7' as one of my minions has just done.

mak3m- surely you will be too busy shopping around for your new bike to worry about the inlaws?

Tired. Didn't meet the parents last night as an event THP was working for ran over, but maybe that's a good thing as I really wasn't in the mood for meeting new people.
Workmeh in full effect.... and although Friday normally finishes at 4.15pm today it's going to last until 5.15pm. :(
Leg is sore after the physio gave me a 'less vigorous' massage yesterday, so I think a quiet night with a bath and my good friends Captain Morgan, and Ben & Jerry will be in order, ready for my first 'long' bike ride tomorrow.
Pines will undoubtedly be muddy, but I need to put the miles in.

Speaking of misplaced phone calls, I think I once did someone's telephone interview for them.

A guy from a recruitment agency phoned me up and started asking me about my skills, how they'd apply to X role, I was trying to figure out why he was so suprised at my lack of knowledge of the company the job was with. If someone calls you out of the blue and starts asking how much you know about Deutsche Bank, you're going to think it's a bit odd right?

After about 45 minutes of him asking in depth questions about financial derivatives and trading I said to him "I don't think I'd really be interested in that job to be honest, it's outside the area that I've focussed on in the past, doesn't really match what I want to be doing etc"
    Him: ".....oh.....er..."
Me: "But if you give me your number, I'll have a look on you website, see what else is available and I'll call you back if I see anything suitable"
Him: "But you've already got my number, we spoke the other day about this job, after you applied last week"
Me: "No....I sent an email to the general company address this morning, I've never spoken to you before and I certainly haven't applied for the job"
    Him: "...What....Oh crap...."

    Hey Y'all

Last day of work as off to Cape Verde for 2 weeks on Sunday. Cant wait, am frickin' knackered and been a right grumpy mofo.

I'm sure the minions will be glad to see the back of me for 2 weeks...just wait till they realise that I've only gone to recharge the batteries to kick the asses of 2 non performing minions when I return

Afternoon to you all. I'm at work, but short day so not too bad. In other news I passed my medical yesterday so I'm just waiting for a formal offer of employment now and I've also switched from the darkside and traded in my iphone an android. No particular reason other than they do pretty much the same but this is a tenner less For a galaxy s2. Cue much squabbling about phone o/s
