Can anyone recommend mudguards to fit a specialized secteur sport?

From personal experience only the SKS RaceBlades (XL) will fit.

It doesnt take "proper" mud guards.

No - not enough clearance through the brakes. Both I and the shop tried with no luck & they had to be returned.

An extensive google at the time also suggested cruds wouldn't fit.

Are your tyres 23's or 25's? Just read the raceblades are for use up to 23mm tyres

I have 25's with my RaceBlades, but the guards say "XL" on them (they come in 2 sizes, if I recall correctly). They certainly dont look "extra large" - they fit very well.

I bought the bike when I knew nothing of bikes. It's the only thing about my bike that bugs me (that it doesnt take "proper" guards")

There you go - probably you could fit Crud Road Racers if you went to 23mm tyres. I know I'd never fit 25s and Cruds on my Ribble.

The Cruds are really good - much reduced cleaning time which is important as I commute and clean the bike everytime it gets mucky!
    Faster than a tent.......
  • Crud Mk2's WILL fit a Secteur, minor rubbing on occasion with 25's and no problem at all with 23's. I ran with them all last winter with no problem.
