However, if you're suggesting that there are rude folk on here, then yes, you're quite right. I mean, the gall of wanting everybody to see their bike the same way as themselves, can you imagine it?
*sigh* Ok, for those without a basic grasp of the English language - I wasn't inferring anyone here would want to, certainly not, more the suggestion that I had unwittingly wandered into some clique of mutually exclusive cocksuckers who, for whatever reasons, feel compelled to try & offend people at any opportunity. I couldn't care less if people find my bike "fugly" - I just really don't understand people who go out of their way to try & elicit a negative reaction from people, school-playground stuff guys.
Oh, the comedy "FTFY" link above had me mildly confused - I wasn't suggesting you were a "moustache sporting, skinny jeans wearing, hipster dickhead wannabe", but thanks for the clarification anyway coolguy.
Carry on boys.

35 lb hardtails... wtf, only if you buy your bikes from halfords
I think its more classic bikes rather than retro
1994 kona cindercone with hope Ti centred hubs, with original dx thumby's - classic (and mine from new...) 22 lb or there about
1994 activator - crap, but those bikes are made of hi-ten steel, not the Tange and Columbus road tubing of classic hardtails
even some early 2000's frames would be classic now such as the schwinn fs bikes or the first moutain cycle rumbles - 2005
discuss......
and mcj78, come back once you have grown up little boy........0 -

Apples, I like braeburn's at the moment, you however, it appears you like your apples in the shape of yahoo's pre pubescent testicles, slapping off your chin - where's coolguy, come on, join in boy.
Also - a "moutain" bike? Is that a French derivative, popular in Belize?

A bike becomes retro when it's a combination of:
Manufactured more than 15 years ago
Too expensive when bought new to ever throw away
Too good a condition to ever throw away
Not good enough to ride "nowadays"
Other factors that also adds "retroness"
You post a Thread and photos of the bike on a Forum
All the Forum Members compliment you on it and even make you an offer on it or parts thereof..
You advertise the bike and no one offers you a penny for it..
Lastly
You're stuck with your retro MTB
You occasionally ride it at trail centres and put your life and personal reputation at risk
Something gives and finding spares becomes a quest for the Holy Grail
You toss it in a skip 12 months later0 -

Not sure i'd say taking a retro bike to a trail centre will risk your life . some ride pretty well (old kona's , kelins and pace) where as others you have to have more skill (kirk for example) . I rode an old hock hopper from 92-93 and it was a heap of fun to ride around margam xc course.0
