Hi all, first post, and no doubt in the wrong section
been lurking a while, and thought it was time to say Hi.
Hi.
been commuting on a Cube Acid MTB for the past 12 months 22 mile round trip, and love it. originally bought a MTB so i could take my little lad (20months) out on mini adventures in his bike seat, he enjoys it so much..
in fact ive become a bit obsessed with cycling as no doubt you all have.
anyway, as work were doing a C2W scheme i took the plunge and got a road bike as well. a Boardman Road Team.
so I just wanted to introduce myself, and I look forward to the vast amount of info and conversation on here and the rest of the board.
cheers

Good afternoon sir and welcome!0

How you finding the road bike? I'm currently commuting on a hardtail (Specialized Rockhopper), locked front suspension and slicks. I'm going for a road bike later this year, can't wait Plus will be good to have the MTB back!0

i love the road bike, my commute average speed has gone up 2.5mph and in honesty it feels more comfortable.
only issue i have is the state of the roads on my commute. you certainly have to be a bit more 'switched on', on the roadie due to potholes and poor raod surfaces. i could just plough on on my mtb, which i run with Schwalbe marathon+ and locked out suspension.
was hoping to get the mtb back on the original tyres and use for more off raod stuff but the fact i cant get a pair of Crudcatcher Roadracer mk2s to fit the roadie as the clearance between front tyre and fork/ brake bridge is tiny. (not sure being on 25 x 700 makes more difference) but it looks like im going to have to use the mtb for any poor weather riding.
which judging by the current weather will be quite often. ;-)
thanks for the welcome anyways ;-)Cube Acid 2011 MTB

Welcome.
I migrated from an MTB to a road fo commuting. It is faster not least because it's about 10lbs lighter.
Will probably use the MTB again when the conditions get a bit icey. Had a few hairy moments last winter with front wheel slides.
And yes bikes are addictive.0 -
Yes mate deffo be using the mtb when it gets icy, most of my roadie mates had a few offs in the ice last year, where I managed to stay upright on my mtb.
That's me cursed now then :-)Cube Acid 2011 MTB
