Planet X Stealth Pro Carbon, Returns
Previously posted this in the 'Road buying advice' section - any comments greatly appreciated.
"Hello all
Has anyone else been unfortunate enough to have received a component from Planet X which was damaged?
I recently received a bike from Planet X however one of the metal lugs on the frame is bent. When I opened the box and took the frame out I gave it a quick once over and saw immediately that it was bent. I asked a bike mechanic in Singapore whether it could just be bent back out so that the rear wheel can fit in; he said not to do this. I called planet X and they asked for photos of the damage, they now also want photos of the box, which of course I will also provide.
Really worried that I will be stuck without a bike and down the price of the bike, transport etc.. Any comments on previous experiences are much appreciated. Hopefully my fears will not be realised.
Cheers

See other Planet X bike return thread about four threads down- they are extremely good at this returns lark and have an extremely good reputation.
Please don't question a firm until you've actually started to deal with them - any firm will request pictures of damage before doing anything.0 -
Hi Yossie
Thanks for your reply. I read the thread on the 'nanolight frame disaster'. Oh Shit, I am happy for Chris it was still under warranty. Planet X appear to have sorted the problem out pretty quick, I just hope in my case I don't have to fly from S'pore to UK to return the bike.
If that is what can happen to a bike just from normal use, then I shudder to think of the possible consequences for the carbon fibre after the knock/pressure/whatever it was, that caused the rear hanger to bend. *heart continues to sink*
cheers
