I'm looking to purchase the SRAM front X.0 derailleur, but can't work out if I need a short, medium or a long cage?

Current setup is 11-34 rear cassette
Front single 32T

makes no difference. there may be other issues that you have not mentioned as there are a few different Front mech fitting and such.

but if you did mean rear then the topic in the FAQs covers Sram and Shimano Cage ranges.

Assume you meant rear, as you'll not be running a front at all with a single ring...

Short would be the best bet.
