Full spec is as follows:

Massi Carbon Pro frame
Superstar XC 430 Wheels on Superstar Hubs, red Sapim spokes
Conti Race King 2.0 Kevlar tyres and Conti Superlight tubes
Rock Shox Reba SL 100mm fork
Easton EA70 Flatbar
Easton EA90 90mm Stem
KNC Foam Grips
XT Shifter
XT Cranks
E-Thirteen G Ring 36t XC Chainring
Mavic Road Chain
XTR Rear Cassette
XT Rear Mech
M520 Pedals
UST Titanium Post
Sella Italia Filante seat
Hayes Stroker Trail 180/160mm brakes

Total Weight: 21.8lbs

Great XC machine, used for the commutes too. I had a road bike but the ride position made my ongoing back problem worse.

I have toyed with the idea of a XC chain device but I have not had any drops so will only get one if I need it.

Thoughts?

I'd suggest you'll want that chain device if you start riding it on rougher ground. Well worth the 70g penalty or so. The Superstar seat tube mounted one looks alright.

Could do with taking out a few of those headset spacers too!

Good frames though, I had an unbranded one from eBay.
  • Get a chain device. Seriously. I didn't have one and my chain came off loads until once it came off when I was pedalling hard along a road and next thing I knew my face was scraping along the tarmac and I'd knocked my mate (and his brand spanking new 456 Ti) into the fence. It's not worth the pain to save 70g.

Yeah you'll definitely want that chain guide, trust me on that ;) £17 for a BB mounted top guide from superstar that weighs very little vs dropping your chain every time you ride anything a bit bumpy, ruining your rides, no brainer really.

nice looking bike. Love the red single chainring.

your chain looks little short to me tho. I made that mistake on my Scale and struggled to use the full range.
  • These were the old Carrera Titan's right?

Very nice too! not sure about the frame stickery though...
