Not really, no. Different people have not only different sized hands, but also slightly different shapes - and glove manufacturers likewise have slightly varying glove shapes.
For example, Fox gloves fit my hands near perfectly (or they did until the last two years or so, then they seem to have made the fingers much narrower).
Likewise, Dakine gloves fit fine.
But 661 gloves rub irritatingly on the bit between the thumb and the palm, causing serious chafing and blistering.
Endura gloves are WAY to narrow in the hand and wrist to fit me, in any size.
So, go try some on - it's really the only way.0 -

I have all the same issues. Please to see I'm not a freak, or rather I am no more of a freak than Yeehaa..... errrr.....
For my hands the old (pre-2010) fox gloves, or specialized Enduro gloves are best.A Flock of Birds

I have an old pair of Fox shorts, 34" waist, that fit fine, but they are torn in a few places.
When I went to try on a new pair of Fox shorts, 34" was nut-crushingly small in the groin, and the waist was far too small. So I had to go to 36" - which fit fine, much better than a two inch increase in waist would suggest.
Oh, and in the time I've owned the previous, 34" shorts, my actual waist size has gone down considerably. WTF? :?0 -
Fox's new sizes are stupid, I loved the old Sidewinder and I was a perfect medium for all older Foxes.. But with the new ones, despite having girlyhands, I need a large. Presumably people with shovelhands just can't wear Fox any more since tbh there's no way anyone would ever say I've got large hands.
Which is a shame because they make bloomin brilliant gloves.Uncompromising extremist0 -
Until recently, Large Fox gloves fitted me perfectly.
I actually bought a pair of XXL Fox dirtpaws about a month ago0 -
Did someone say 'shovel hands'? :P
Yep - can't wear Fox gloves - far too tight.2007 Felt Q720 (the ratbike)

I bought some Fox gloves (not flowers  ) from CRC in their sale and they only had XL, but I went ahead anyway expecting them to be too big, but they're a bit on the tight side if anything.
I'm 6ft with proportionatly sized hands.. :?2011 Cannondale Trail SL 29er HERE0 -

Areyou by any chance relating your glove correlation with masturbation. If so them many thanks and suggest that the blistering may be a pre-existing condition.

yeehaamcgee wrote:Well, Fox gloves have always been a tight fit - it's one of the reasons I like them, they're almost like surgical gloves, and give great tactile response. .
I see.

Measure round your hand just below the knucles
8" Small
8.5" Medium
9" Large
9.5" XLarge0 -
And what if you have a normal size palm, but with short fat fingers like me? Doesn't work. but I did find a pair of Foxs (2010) which fit lovely.0

Fox are way off the mark with their glove sizing.
If you're gonna buy fox gloves, look at the size guide, measure your hand, ignore the size guide and go a size larger... at least! :shock:http://i556.photobucket.com/albums/ss9/ ... lurLT2.jpg

I found the sizing chart for the specialised gloves bang on
A good test for gloves such as mtb gloves (and golf gloves as it happens, another pastime of mine) is the pinch test, you should just about be able to pinch the fabric on the back of your hand
Can highly recommend spesh bg gel gloves by the way.0 -

You need to order one size up from what you would normaly get. For me Fox gloves are amongst the best if not the best. The Unabomber are fantastic gloves.Rideing a Canyon XC Nerve 6.0,

not so - that would make me a large but I have long, skinny fingers so even an XL is a tight fit"Why have that extra tooth if you're not using it?" - Brian Lopes
