Cycling club wanted

Evening all,
I'm looking to improve my cycling by joining a club primarily to do weekend training runs and if I can get good enough some TTs and other races.
I ride at 17-18mph average at the moment but need to bump this up a bit so I'm looking to ride with people that I can learn from.
Can anyone recommend a club in North London that does regular long rides that also has different speed groups?
Thanks
Aaron

The CTC are a good bunch and the insurance that you get when you join is very reassuring. The link above will help you find a few options.
The main emphasis is on touring but I have found my club to have a nice mix of folks and you might also find some like minded people who do training rides, TTs, etc. or are interested in setting something up. You don't have to join before having a few trial rides... and you may be surprised at the speed of the top groups (then again, you might not )0 -
Finsbury Park are a friendly Club. Thier club runs go from Potters Bar every sunday morning at 9.30. People cycle out from various places in North london.

Yup - emailed them - they said they do about 15-16 mph. I need something a bit faster. I'm averaging 17-18 on my own and want to get faster,

How far are your rides at the moment?0 -
I'm just off the back of Ironman UK so I've done plenty of long rides this year including La Marmotte and that cobbly thing in Belgium - can't remember the name. At this very moment I'm training for the Ballbuster and a marathon so the rides are shorter but I'm doing a 100 miler in 2 weeks so will be doing a combo of run the BB loops on Saturday and then 50 miles or so on Sunday.
I want to train with others over short and long distances with the aim of getting faster. Maybe do some bike specific races or TTs.
Ive done tons of cycling but want to get better so figure joining a club is the best way forward.0
