Off to the sunny Lake District tommorow for a few days. We had planned to do some high passes and Helvellyn but the bad weather and very high winds forecast means we dont fancy getting blown off the top of a mountain. Can anyone reccomend any lower level more sheltered rides to keep us going till the hurricane blows over.

Doesnt have to be long or technical just needs to keep us spinning and out of the boozer for a couple of days.

  • How about the Borrowdale bash?

Only done it the once but it didnt seem too exposed, nice climb up Honister and a few decent decents.
  • +1 the Bash
Lots of nice bridleway action in and around Grizdale Forest
Kentmere from Staveley or over to Staveley from Ambleside
