Bontrager XR3 tyres

I have recently swapped my Michelin XC-AT tyres for a pair of Bontrager's XR3 tyres which came off a Fuel EX8 that a mate of mine bought earlier in the year.
The Michelin's were good at shedding mud, but bloomin lethal on roots. They seemed very puncture prone too.
Does anyone here have experience of the XR3s? I'll be using them for the Insomnia ride at Bedgebury, Saturday night, and will only have limited trail time to suss them out first. Just wondering what to expect, really.
Thanks
