Hi Danlube, I used about 7 years ago, bloody good fun, esp when a load more trails opened up after (i think) a south African fellow got injured and he spent his recouperation building new trails...Top work fella.
What's it been like since, I may make the drive up from London.....you still got one massive bomb hole? the hip jump left and a mental off camber ditch jump just after the run in form the shop doubles...Ahhh the memoriesYou know your a Cyclist when a surgeon tells you you need a heart valve replacement and you ask if you have a choice between Presta and Schrader.0 -

I'm going on Sunday. don't know whether to take the hardtail or the stumpy FSR? but either way I'm really looking forward to it. anyone going this weekendYou know your a Cyclist when a surgeon tells you you need a heart valve replacement and you ask if you have a choice between Presta and Schrader.0

I'm heading down tomorrow. Possibly Sunday too, it's a fuel burner trip for me.Kona Tanuki Deluxe0

I ride it once or twice a week. After work is a good time to ride, hardly see a soul.
Not really a jumper, so normally ride the singletrack north of the Common. A lot of singletrack tucked away for such a small space.
Anyone ever ridden Blakes Wood? Heard it is one of the best bits, but was closed off to bikes before I started going over to Danbury.0 -
Blakes - is good. They have tried their best to stop riding. Big stile things, signs everywhere and occasionally loads of logs across the trails. But we still ride it, at night or early in the morning. If you do come across someone be respectful.0

To be honest, I start my loop in the car park there and it always seems quite busy, so I stay out.
Shame, but given that there is seemingly access to everywhere else, must be a decent reason for banning bikes.0 -
i ride over there when i can, not been down much this summer due to injury but will be back there over the winter.
very smooth there at the moment.
worth noting that the top car park has been surfaced but now has a height restriction so don't go driving in there with your bikes on the roof!0 -
What carpark is this? I tend to park at the gravel one near the Cricketers.Kona Tanuki Deluxe0

the one up by the mini round about.
always full of mum mobiles
i have yet to use the cricketers one i usually use the one just up from that but my car is properly low and it's difficult to drive in0 -
I rode it last weekend and still running okay, not too cloggy yet.
It was damp though, so some of the roots were very slippy.
Lots of fallen leaves on the singletrack, can make it difficult to follow a decent line in places.
No rain this week, so going to go again Saturday.0 -
thanks for that jono, planning a trip on Monday.
you watch it'll rain now I've said that.http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=12851595

Was over there yesterday, awesome condition for this time year.
XC trails were fast but the leaves were slippery, but over at the common the runs were all awesome and grippy! long live global warming!0 -
I rode Sunday as well, dropped my saddle a bit and let some air out the tyres and the bike felt super grippy. Couldn't believe how good it was, will be going again at the weekend.
Plenty of people in the woods though, which was strange. Spent the whole summer riding and hardly saw anyone.0 -
Any of you chaps ride at night over there?0

I love riding in my back garden but it is nice to have a change of scenery every once in a while.0
