noice from cranks/bracket?

I would consider myself a complete noob, and therefore this will probably be a silly question.
About 3/4 weeks after getting a giant rapid 3, I noticed a kind of clunky noice while peddaling, mostly when applying more power and going uphill. It just doesnt feel right and is dampening my pleasure of cycling after a very long absence. I have went back to my old raleigh cheap as chips AT 10 for my commute.
I told my LBS where I purchased from about this when I got free 6 week check. On return of bike they said everything was fine.
Any advice would be most welcome

Try the following:
1, Check that the cranks and pedals are tight.
2, Regrease pedal threads.
3, Check bottom bracket is tight.
4, Regrease bottom bracket threads.
Don't forget that the left pedal and right bottom bracket cup unscrew clockwise!0 -
5 - check the front mech isn't rubbing on the chain
