Just though i'd share my fantastic Saturday with you all.

Got up at 6.00 for an 80 mile ride. (so far so good)
Let dog out, dog comes in with sh*t all over his ar*e, had to shower him off.
About to leave, rear light is flat, hunt for new batteries.
Hit a pothole, saddle bag falls off.
Stuck at roadworks for 5 minutes
Got lost and ended up adding 10 miles to route. (big tailwind so didn't realise that I had gone that far + Oxfordhire sign posts tend to send you all directions)
Hit a pothole, saddle bag falls off again.
Ended up with gel down inside the fingers of my glove, sticky hand all the way home.
Nearly lost the front on a huge horse sh*t.
Computer kept zeroing its self.
Developed Tourettes every time I hit a pot hole.
30 miles of block headwind all the way home.
Rain10 miles from home.
Got passed you a bloke like I was standing still (into headwind)

Apart from that I really enjoyed my ride.

How was your day?

I did my first 30 mile ride this morning (only been cycling for 5 weeks) and I was with a new friend that I met on these forums.

Came to road works and didn't unclip in time so I ended up on my side on the road ( thankfully no oncoming traffic). I couldn't change to the big ring from then, thankfully my friend had a multi-tool and managed to adjust the stop scre to fix that.

Now I ache and my brother wants to go mountain biking over Cannock Chase tomorrow!

I got overtaken by a guy on a road bike wearing everyday trainers/clothes, and had a huge holdall on his back :(

I was trying to stay in Z2 so couldn't hunt him down.
  • Went to tesco
    Had my lunch
    Went to football
    Went to pub
    Riding tomorra.

    Seems reasonable to me. :D

Woke up sat morning feeling like a tank had been doing the funky chicken on my legs. this was due to the fact I had done a hilly ( long draggy climbs and short sharp ones too) 50 miles on friday with my mate who tour guides in Italy and Oz and it was my 3rd ride after a bad crash in a race on June 23rd and I felt every yard. Chewing the bars big time, any pain related cliche about cycling you have ever heard related to me on friday and saturday morning.

Loved it, back out Sunday morning for more. :D

Didn't get nearto the bike due to studying plus rugby & f1 :(
  • at work, 8 mile soggy commute
  • Today I cycled 60 miles to watch the Tour of Britain roadside. Heading for Meggethead KOM but because of wind (and left 20 mins after planned time) stopped about 7 mjiles short to spectate and take photo's. 4hrs 15mins to get there 3hrs 20 to get back (happiness is Tail wind!). Got more wet the nearer destination and the opposite on way home. Went to St Mary's Loch cafe for much needed Lunch. Had to stop at top of Hill at Montberger to take some clothing of as overheating on way back.

    Cycling is great! :lol::D

This is why I don't own a dog or a saddle bag.
