A 60 year old cyclist has just been beaten up by a nutter with a hammer. The poor guy was struck 15 times by some crazed motorist who claimed that the cyclist was holding him up.

The local rag made a point of stating that the cyclist WAS NOT WEARING A HELMET.

Oh. Well in that case, he was clearly asking for it.

They didn't make a BIG point of it. They mentioned it once in a four paragraph story. People would have wondered had it not been in there.
