Looking at upgraded my stock stem and bar on my mongoose tyax elite.
Handlebar: 31.8mmx30 685mm
Stem: 31.8mm x 110mm
Want to downgrade the stem to a 90mm to improve steering etc.
Should I go for a 15mm riser with 90mm stem/ 6degree rise or a 30mm riser with 90mm stem/0degree rise?
Cheers in advance.

Have a read of this to see how stem angles affect reach and height.

Thats mental but cant really get my head round it as im fairly new to all this. Might go for 30mm riser with 90mm/6degree rising stem then. It's pretty much the same as my current set up but 20mm shorter stem which IV heard will improve the response of the steering. Do you now what affect it will have on my ride to keep everything the same but going that 20mm shorter on the stem? Cheers0

As you say, will quicken the steering, and will put your weigth a bit further back. Most stems are 6 degrees rise anyway.0

As per your other thread, i'd drop 20-30mm off your current stem. If you have new bars as you say, the two combined will make it feel a lot more lively, i'm sure you will like it.0

I went from a 90mm stem on my Mongoose to a 65mm flat stem, and also went from 680mm wide bars to 711mm bars with same rise. Feels much more natural to me.----
