Has a spectator ever hijacks a race?

Was talking about the tour of Britain with a work mate before as we are off to watch the end of stage 2 on Monday, and we got chatting about taking the bikes and jumping onto the road 5 minutes before the peloton and riding the last km as fast as possible (sprint style finish) and before anyone knew any different crossing the line the shouts and screams.
Obviously this wont happen and the reality would probably be very different, but i was wondering if this sort of thing had ever happened. ie. spectator joins the race and crosses the line first with all the press taking pictures etc?

Dunno about the finish line !
But I think someone got on the Oplympic test race route and rode alongside the peloton. He was a middle aged chubby fella from the photo I saw.0 -

There were a couple of guys, one in a yellow jersey and one in a polkadot jersey, who got onto the route of a TdF mountain stage a few years back. They didn't 'win' the stage but finished near the front IIRC
Edit: cheers andyp, couldn't remember which tour it was0 -

I can remember watching it and Ligett thought the Kelme clad rider was Escartin(?)............mind you, doesn't take much for him to get confused.

Yes as someone said it was Courcheval a few years back : The funniest bit was David Duffield going mental on Commentary and hearing Sean Kelly in the background pissing himself laughing0
