What can I do to improve them more ?
Are sintered pads much better to use instead originals ryde pads ?
Just bleed brakes ,sand discs, cook original pads in oven and sand them...and before could not stop wheel sitting on bike but now they stopping both wheels when I'm on bike and dry road ---it helps a lot...but !!
QUESTION IS WHEN I SQUEEZE MY BRAKES COUPLE TIMES I NOTICE THAT MY BLEEDING SCREW GOT SOME DOT-4 ON IT AFTER WIPE OUT AND RIDE STILL CAN DOT-4.
WHY MY BLEEDING SCREW LEAKING ONLY WHERE THE HOLE IS FOR BLEEDING BRAKES NOWHERE ELSE ? ANY IDEAS ?
Attach some picture where is leak...?

Is it actually leaking out or is it fluid just sat inside the bleed nipple?2008 Kona Dawg Deluxe http://s1187.photobucket.com/albums/z39 ... luxe%2008/

When I dry fluid and ride ,squeeze brakes hard it's not leaking hard but hole in screw filling up with fluid.
Sorry did not explain correctly.0 -
When you bleed the brakes was there much crap in the fluid you took out?, you could have a tiny bit of crap stuck in the valve.2008 Kona Dawg Deluxe http://s1187.photobucket.com/albums/z39 ... luxe%2008/

I bleed them and squeeze all old fluid from them and fill with new one.
Don't think is crap in fluid as it's same happend with both nipples front and back..can see fluid comming out slowly after hard breaking--but only from bleed hole.0 -
Silly question i know but are the nipples nipped up enough, also what condition were the o rings in?.2008 Kona Dawg Deluxe http://s1187.photobucket.com/albums/z39 ... luxe%2008/

Just look on bike and it's standing here..only I wipe bleed nipples "both" and they where dry inside bleed hole...now they fill up with fluid...without squeeseing brakes at all..??
That's weird.?0 -

Found it..but think it's not this one..as there is not other leak or fluid comming out from calipers..only nipple head "hole"..?Both brakes got same thing..mayby nipple screws are faulty ?0

TBH i think the brake i was thinking off that uses the o ring is the Mag, so as you say its a bit weird to be happening on both brakes.2008 Kona Dawg Deluxe http://s1187.photobucket.com/albums/z39 ... luxe%2008/

Well will leave that and ride more..
Question -- new sintered pads need some time to starts working correctly.I mean they need any "burst" ?0 -
Could be that the nipples are shot, you need to bed in the pads.
Lots of different views on how to do this, me myself i find a nice hill and apply increasing pressure then bring myself to a full stop.
Doing this a few times should bed in the pads, just make sure you do it on clean rotors.2008 Kona Dawg Deluxe http://s1187.photobucket.com/albums/z39 ... luxe%2008/

the o ring is to seal the "Transfer port" the hole/passageway where the fluid passes from one half of the caliper to the other

All two piece calipers need some sort of transfer port seal most use an oring
Some Hope nipples have o rings fitted but they seal off by the point at the base blocking the bleed port

My Hayes Stroker Carbon's had this problem - were fine until I decided I wanted to bleed them...the nipple was proper soft and wouldn't seal properly after the bleed. A quick fix was to remove the bleed nipple and wrap some PTFE tape round it and then replace - worked for me but from what I could find at the time, it's a well known 'fact' that the bleed nipples on Hayes brakes are soft and don't always seal properly after a bleed.
I'm using 'fact' as I'm not sure how accurate it actually is...but going by my own experience of having 2 Stroker Carbons and both failing, it didn't bode well, but both fixed with the PTFE tape. The Quest for Singletrack is Endless...0 -
Hope mini nipples fit hayes calipers same thread and seat though you need bigger tube and an 8mm spanner instead of a 6mmMountain: Orange Patriot FR, SubZero & Evo2LE.
