Heeeeelp please.

My Formula RX1 disc brakes scream like a banshee in the wet.
We are talking full on wet/muddy conditions.
Always inspected and cleaned after every ride.
Everthing is in good condition with little or no wear evident.

is this normal or is it likely that the pads are contaminated?

thanks in advance

Ray

It is quite normal to have squealing discs in the wet, sintered pads in particular while long lasting in the wet can be rather squeal prone

Although a few things you can check to see if they help reduce the volume a bit.

    1. Is the calliper aligned perfectly to the disc? Misaligned callipers will squeal like a gaggle of angry geese even in the dry.

    2. Are your pads glazed, this will affect your brakes performance and squeal like a bastard.

    3. What are you using to clean the brakes after every ride? Some products are not good for brake pads and can leave contamination, this may also affect brake performance.

If your sure none of the above are an issue then may I suggest some ear plugs.
    Fancy a brew?
