Anyone know if you need an appointment to go up to the warehouse and have a look at the bikes, or can you just turn up? I'm looking to go up tomorrow, and i've emailed to ask but they are notoriously slow to reply! No answer on the phone either and it's a decent drive so don't want to get up there to not be allowed in

There is a small shop area at the warehouse I believe - but it may only be for kit, not bikes.
  • As far as i know the shop (not warehouse) is currently closed for renovations.....a work mate went on Saturday and let me know today

When it is open, the bikes are all it is good for really. And you don't need an appointment.

Thanks for the replies. In fairness to Ribble they did get back to me. They are undergoing renovations at the minute, but they are still open. Now i just hope they'll let me make a cheeky top up on the cycle to work scheme?

Here's hoping to a stealth with SRAM rival and a couple of other upgrades :D

Failing that it's a stealth with Tiagra (the best i can get for strictly under £1000) - to be upgraded as soon :?

I was gonna go for a drive to Ribble on Sat morning, just to have a proper check on frame sizes. Think i'll give them a ring beforehand to make sure i don't waste petrol.

Might be worth it mate, although when i rang there was a message saying they are not answering phones while the work is being done, so you might be best sending an email
  • Ribble have 1 of each bike on display for you to have a look at, plus if they have one made up in the back they'll get it out for you.

They've always been very good when I've been.

They also have a fitting jig in the bike showroom at the warehouse-although when I was there they said they 'never use it'.

They used it for me when I bought a Sportive it took about 30-40 mins in total this is why they say they never use it, It does cost £50.00 to get fitted but if you buy the bike they knock it off the bill, so in a way if your local it's worth going down to get the best fit for your bike,

Went down to the shop yesterday and ordered my Stealth :D
I can't praise the staff there highly enough. I dealt with a lad called Matt who was really helpful, and took a lot of time to talk me through bike and components, and making sure i had the right size.
Really pleased with the service i got
Thanks Ribble and Matt in particular

Lucky you! When I visited in August they were very off hand, unlocking the Gran Fondo from the wall just seemed too much of an effort and there was no mention of a jig or any advice forthcoming, even though I said I was concerned about correct stem length and would have happily paid the £50 as I was ready to buy. When I suggested fitting pedals, offering my own, to try and size the bike it was the last straw for them. Guess that's why I spent my money elsewhere.

I don't blame you mate. If i'd have got that kind of treatment i'd have gone elsewhere too. I was quite prepared to walk away had i not been happy; i believe in voting with my custom - crappy service means no purchase.
That said, i can only speak as i find, and they were great with me :)
