Would buy myself - but as I am off the bike with all manner of injuries - wouldn't go down well with Mrs Rollo

i wouldn't expect them to stick about at this price !

Same price at Planet X - a little on the heavy side but the clincher issue (from a brand name) and the reviews for these wheels seem spot on

Just to clarify - it's the RS80 C50 with the alloy braking surface, not the full carbon Dura Ace C50.

I expect they're very good wheels, but they're heavy compared to a full carbon (my PowerTap build with Chinese carbon clinchers weigh less).

I've got full carbon clinchers - 58mm pair that weigh around 1550g per pair but around £820 delivered with taxes. Still a bargain though (if £800+ for ANY wheels is a bargain)

Mavic Cosmic Carbones similar price and lighter and dependable (not saying the C50s aren't as well)

Cheapest ive ever seen carbones is £599 - more typically though £650 + I would say the carbones are the better wheel - but if you just want a bit of reliable bling, that isnt monstrously heavy - it would be the c50 s

I've just bought 50mm carbon clinchers from Wheelsmith - handbuilt on Novatec Superlight hubs, with Gigantex carbon rims and Sapim CXRay spokes. Lovely. £680 delivered with a set of carbon suitable brake pads.

They tend not to use VIP discounts on Shimano stuff (I found this out after signing up) - so don't assume that you're going to get it. Best to check with them
