Wild camping near Glentress

Hi
I’m planning a riding / camping trip to Glentress in 2 weeks with 2 friends. We’ll be staying 4 nights in Hammocks and don’t want to stay in an official campsite.
We will probably ride inners too and I've heard the forest at inners is more suitable to camp in than at glentress. Is this the case or have I heard wrong?
Does anyone know of any areas close by that would be quiet and suitable for wild camping?
