This will be my first winter commuting and i have no idea what lights to buy. I have looked through the forum and cannot seem to decide. My budget is £100 - £150 for front and back.

My commute is half on lit roads but i have 6 miles on a cycle track through well developed woodland with no lighting at all. I would really like to be able to see the trees that have fallen before i hit them  .

Any suggestions would be greatfully appreciated I am more than willing to buy previous years versions.

Thanks in advance

From the research I've been doing the Philips LED bike light is probably the best front light you can get for seeing where you are going. Its even correctly horizoned to stop you blinding others.

You could add an exposure flare for the rear and come in under budget.
    Mud - Genesis Vapour CCX
    Race - Fuji Norcom Straight
    Sun - Cervelo R3
Winter / Commute - Dolan ADX
  • For the front - http://www.fenixtorch.co.uk/led_torches ... 20-r4.html - £47.95

One of these to attach it to the bike - http://www.fenixtorch.co.uk/led_torches/lockblock.html - £6.95

    For the back - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/smart-lunar-r1-rear-light - £16.16 each

I'd get a decent set of rechargable batteries and a good charger with the rest.

Thank you the tests preformed on the light mae it appear to be one of the best.

I have a week to decide before getting paid so but at the moment i cannot see any better.
