It's now officially cold enough for me to start switching to full tights, I already have early winter gloves and a gore windproof.

How long before we hit morning frosts n ice patches ?

I hate winter

When I start commuting again in 10 or so days i might be adding arm warmers and maybe knee warmers and a windproof gilet. First thing I change is to long finger gloves, usually defeet wool ones.

This. It's not even dropped below 15 degrees. Too much of a climate shock from Florida?

Currently wearing knee and arm warmers in a morning but the arm warmers are off after about 5 miles. Just shorts and jersey on the way home.

Ahem... this girl was wearing shorts and a windproof gilet over a vest top today

Admittedly, I did consider the arm warmers but could only find one of them.

  • Bibshorts and a Gore SS top and a thin windstopper gilet is fine for me til it gets down to about 8 or 9 degrees C, then it'll be the Gore Phantom jacket and 3/4 shorts. Below 5degC the tights will come out and another base layer...

Bib shorts and short sleeves for the way home

On the way in (6am start) then I've started with Rapha arm warmers, mainly because I only got out of bed 10mins earlier so haven't quiet woken up

  • Have to admit to wearing a baselayer vest this morning under a s/s jersey...oh, and arm warmers!
  • Shorts and t-shirt + fingerless gloves.

  • Shorts are fine down to -5C, below that I "may" consider tights. SS base and long sleeved top with arms mostly rolled up. Lightweight rainjacket in bag to go on and off as required.

Bibshorts, merino base layer, Gore Xenon Windstopper, Pearl Izumi full finger gloves. Makes me a bit warm on the way home to be honest.
