Specialized fork recall & replacement

Hi all, just after a quick bit of advice.
Mrs has a Specialized hybrid that she was happy with. On taking it in for a service, bike shop told her that the forks were dangerous, had been recalled & the bike was being held for replacement. Apparently the Roubaix-style inserts were defective meaning the forks could snap.
3-4 weeks left without a bike for commuting on & it's now back, but the forks are now chunky black ones instead of the original red/white ones (in keeping with the red/white rest of bike) she had & she ain't happy with it. Bike does look a bit daft TBH & she's put right off it. I'm a bit of a ponce when it comes to a bike looking right & I can sympathise...!
Setup of the bike was all out as well when we got it back.
Not the LBS fault of course but that's a bit shoddy I reckon.
Is it worth chasing Specialized over this or am I being unreasonable?

Some people have rejected the forks fitted in replacement due to the colourscheme etc and have had refunds or new bikes.
