i'm looking for holidays for next year and was looking at a fly drive to canada whn i read this:

Day 3

BANFF NATIONAL PARK
The entire day is free to tour Banff and the surrounding area. We suggest a visit to the Luxton Museum, a gondola ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain or a stroll through town admiring the many shops. You may also try river rafting on the Bow River or take a boat tour on beautiful Lake Minnewanka.

am i the only one who found that funny?

if yes, i'll get my coat

  • They seem to have forgotten one of the best activities available at Banff NP. The Obvious.

and yes I did chuckle a bit

Banff is awesome, Lake Louise is better for a daytrip than Minniwanka and for whatever reason over there they pronounce it minniwonka.

The only time I went to Canada the minibus driver couldn't understand why all us Brits pi$$ed ourselves laughing when we went past a sign for a town called 'Furry Creek' (followed by lots of very obvious jokes about wanting to go there etc). I think these Canadians aren't too sharp on double entendres.

  • Canadians do have a generally weak sense of humour - they do like obvious jokes but smut, double entendres and the like fall flat. Bless.

I did try and find the street view of the village sign but it seems like the locals took it down.

Also, everyone drives around with stickers that say 'BNP' on their bumpers.

Took ages for me to stop having to remind myself it stood for Banff National Park.
