As title really.
Fancy doing a few more non solo rides any suggestions? If I can avoid trekking to reading/maidenhead that would be a plus.

Probably worth a go - they seemed to know a lot about the events in the local area when I went in there.FCN 3 / 40

I'm suprised there's never been a club centred around Wokingham/Bracknell - probably a good opportunity to start one.
BOB MBC ride from Crowthorne, but obviously focus on MTBs. Nearest road clubs are probably Thames Velo (Maidenhead) or Reading CC.....neither of which are exactly local.0 -

You'd have thought wouldnt you...but judging by the response (or lack of) there seems to be little interest.Pseudonym wrote:BOB MBC ride from Crowthorne, but obviously focus on MTBs. Nearest road clubs are probably Thames Velo (Maidenhead) or Reading CC.....neither of which are exactly local.
Exactly my thoughts, I can see my enthusiasm waning if I have to travel > 30 mins to and from a club.
Nice idea to set up a club but I thought I would walk before running (terribly inappropriate metaphor)
So what is stopping you all???My bikes

for what it's worth, when I lived in Wokingham I rode with the Velo - but in those days we used to meet at Knowl Hill on the A4, which was only a short ride over. It looks like they've gone all Maidenhead-centric now, which probably reflects their member base.
I would offer to help, but I'm now 200 miles away..0 -
What sort of distances are you looking to ride?
I head over that direction on my rides and could ride up into the Chilterns from there.
There's a group that meets on the first Sunday in Windsor and does an easy 30'ish mile route. Folks sometimes ride out from London for it to do a 60 mile loop.0 -
Distance...Thats a good question.
Easy-ish 30s sound appealing though being a relative new roadie I dont know what easy means. How do you quantify that average mph?
Being the beignners forum I don't feel to embarassed that I would prob want to limit it to say 40 miles. I would like to go further but want to build up gradually. My bikes

I've only been on one ride with them and I'd describe that one as very easy and I'm no hardened racer.
I normally ride routes between 30 and 50 miles without a stop on my own but happy to ride more with company, and a coffee break if needed. So if you fancy it I can ride out your way and do 40 with you, which will be about 60 for me.
If you fancy it let me know and the next ride from Windsor is the first weekend in October.0 -

I hope to go for a ride in/nr Windsor this Sunday with a London based colleague who is trying to regain some fitness since we both got new bikes on the C2W scheme we have. However he is prob more of a 20-30 man right now. If you have any recommendations for a good route (or you'd be welcome to be our personal guide) it would be appreciated. My bikes

I'm not around this weekend I'm afraid, otherwise I'd have been up for it. As for routes, a run around and through the Great Park is always an easy pleasant ride.
Give me a shout when you fancy a run, weekends are best although Fridays are good as well.0 -

Might have a look tomorrow.

As a relative newbie to the road I joined Farnborough & Camberley CC this year. They have a variety of rides for different levels. I don't know if it would be too far from you. They usually meet in Cove (near Farnborough) and rides tend to be into Hampshire --- Crondall, Well, Lasham, Alresford kind of direction or towards Tilford, Rushmore, Elstead, Cutmill, Seale.

They are a pretty friendly lot.“You may think that; I couldn’t possibly comment!”

Not in wokingham, but in woking if you fancied a short drive, I normally do a 30 mile route out to staines and back on a sunnday morning which is getting boring on my ownInsert witty signature here0
