HI, a few riding buddies & i are planning a 4/5 day riding trip to Afan/Cwmcarn next may/june. Probably camping but b&b is an option. Does any one know of any good campsites/b&b in theses areas. Any personal experiences/info would come in useful. Many thanks & i hope the trusty old Trek will hold out, or i will have to buy a shiny new beast to thrash!!!!! lol.

Stayed here the last few years. About 20 minutes from Afan. Small, quiet basic campsite, has hot showers, friendly owners, a bikewash, and cheap. Either field camping (no pitches, just where you like) or a bit wilder in the woods next to a river.
Left mobiles charging in the kitchen and bikes lying around and seems crime free as well.
Not good for parties but excellent for some chilled camping.
Only downside - being Wales it rains. But that's not the campsites fault.

Cwmcarn has camping with showers and secure bike lockers. They have also now got small wooden pods to sleep in, they look quite good and you may be able to put the bikes in aswell.
I know they get quite full at the campsite so worth booking in advance. The visitor entre does a good cooked breakfast to boot....0 -
I'll second Glyn Mull Farm for the best camping in the Afan area.
For B&B check out the Green Lantern B&B http://www.greenlanterns.co.uk/ great, friendly, pretty cheap, great breakfast and only 7 mins from Afan. Plus there is a steak house restuarant on site. Which was superb for post shredding beer and food!
Hope that helps and enjoy!0 -
Hi there
I would definitely suggest camping at Glyncorrwg Ponds Mountain Bike Centre. It is cheap (£5 per night), has a secure lockup for overnight bike storage, awesome breakfasts, bike shop, trails start from the back of the camping area... perfect!!
The campsite is located at the start of the Whites Level and Skyline trails... both of which are epic.
Check this link out for more details and trail descriptions etc - http://www.trailguru.co.uk/mountain-bik ... rrwg-wales
Its also only 10 minutes up the road from The Wall at Afan.
Happy riding,
