    Anyone else feel obliged to 'take the lane' when cycling on surface-dressed roads? It p1sses off the drivers no end but it's the only way that I feel safe, cos as sure as hell drivers ignore the 20mph signs!

    Not so much taking the lane, but I do cycle where the car tires would normally be. I haven't found any p1553d off drivers from this (no beeping, yelling, fingers), I think they get it that the roads are very poor quality right now.

    Also numbers outside the circle are discretionary, not mandatory. I was driving 30-40mph in an advisory 20 earlier. :oops:

    I hope we don't get a harsh winter this year - there will be nothing left of the roads!

    had to stop 3 times on Sunday morning and pick chips from the tyres stuck on with tar. click, click, click etc.

    That road was resurfaced 3 weeks ago!
