    Can I ask why? I've never understood why folk would rather carry stuff themselves rather than have the bike do it. Your back will sweat less and it's easier on the shoulders, especially on long distances.

    I tried a backpack for a while and had exactly the same problem. I was cornering like a dog on drugs
    I don't use panniers exactly but a huge saddlebag on an SQR
  • I've had a Giant Defy for the past 3 years after getting back into road cycling, excellent bike and very comfortable regularly do 60km+ with no problems. never had a mechanical since I bought it bombproof build quality.
