I have looked through the sites for smaller size spd shoes.

Ideally looking for ladies size 3, but all the bike stores only seem to list size 5 and above.

I am sure childrens spd would fit, but cannot find any.

Then again, I assume with health and safety kids are not allowed to have their feet clipped in?

Any help appreciated.
cheers.

(p..s) No my feet are not that small!

  • Cheers, but all seem too big!

the ebay link is for a 4 and apparently stuffing newspaper down the toes is not an option...wimmin!

  • Thanks Brains......FFS read the question correctly before answering, that way you don't waste peoples time reading your pointless response!

I know the guys at Westbrook, having bought 2 bikes from them and have spoken to them.

The link you posted shows shoes which start at size 36.

As I mentioned the requirement is for a uk size 3 which everyone knows is a 35..

Which in case you are not aware is different and in fact smaller than size 36...Which also means a size 36 would be too large and a waste of money!

So as you so eloquently put it "FFS"....... :D

isn't eu size 35 to 36 same as uk 3?

cycling shoe size advice is usually to go up by up to one size, so if you are a 3 in a normal shoe i'd think you'd be ok with a 36 in some models, 35 in others

they *do* have both these sizes in stock at chain reaction on the link i gave you...

    http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=45997 35, pricey though

    http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=46686 36

there are more 36, but that's the only 35 i think

you need to try some on though, i'm a mens 11, but some road shoes fit me at 46, some i need larger, there's a fair bit of variation by model

  • Sungod,

Tks for the 35 size link.

It makes sense, trying them is the only way.

You are right they are pricey, but to be honest I couldn't let her buy them,....anyone who wears Sidi shoes for a spin class, would just look a little over eager! :D

Does she really need spin shoes ? I used to have a pair as I teach spin but I found them very restricting - cant run or use the other cross training machines with them properly.

I find it much easier spinning in some cross training shoes to be honest. OK its not 100% efficient - but I dont think thats the issue. And clips and straps were OK for decades so for a 45 minute class - I can cope with them.
  • cougie, I appreciate your thoughts, but who knows?

Apparently the latest injury was to do with foot not fitting inside the pedal trap correctly, where I suggested spd shoes.

i did spin for about 12 years and found spd a great help, particularly if you used a lighter shoe than conventional outdoor mtb shoes

My thoughts, the spd's may be worth a shot?

    cheers

/quote]I am a size 4 1/2 and generally wear a 37 or 38 in normal shoes. I have three pairs of Specialized cycling shoes, all of which are EU39 (~size 6) so I agree that you really need to try them on.
