Cycling posture and Weight

Newbie here. I noticed pics from pro cyclist often have their bodies almost parallel to the ground... Doesn't that mean that their body weight is resting entirely on their balls? Does cushion from the cycling tights really reduce the pain or am I missing something here?

Did you not know that on the road to becoming a pro-cyclist that the castration ceremony was the most important step?
On a more serious note - weight distribution is an important part of bike setup; but worth noting is that a stronger cyclist (like a pro) tends to put less weight on the saddle (as their legs are pushing the pedals far harder than us mere mortals can).0 -
When wearing bib shorts, are we men suppose to move our genit**s upwards to cater to such aggressive postures?0

In winter, shrinkage takes care of all that for you.
Overall, you shouldn't have that much weight on your squishy bits - and if you look at pros, they are not bent right over the bike often - they, like us, will ride on the hoods for much of the time - this means their sitbones are taking the weight (along with arms to a lesser degree).
The only times they'll really get down parallel to the ground is on downhills and certain styles/phases of sprinting.
So if you are resting on your knackers most of the time, there's something wrong with your position on the bike, but try a manual readjustment of things inside your shorts first!0 -

Do you actually think that cyclists ride round for hours on end sitting on their balls??

I always hoik em up out of the way - my wife says if they go too high (above the pad) then you can see more than is proper through the well stretched lycra - I don't care as long as its out of the way though!!0

the first step is the opposite of taking off in a plane...
raise undercarriage
then it's...
sit on sit bones
take offmy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -
Dear King Jeffers - Thanks for your concern for my welfare your highness but it's ok I already have all the children I want but I still don't want the manufacturing equipment damaged thanks!0

Thye start off in the usual place then - bike out of garage - nice big stretch up before I set off - tuck em in tight and high ! (the lady accross the road often smiles wryly by the way).0
