Quick release & 20mm Thru Axles??????

Hi guys and girls.......

Im purchasing a Genesis Core 40 in a couple of days and am baffled beween the difference of QR and 20mm Thru Axle's, the Genesis has a 20mm Thru Axle Centre Lock, is the 20mm still QR or do you have to unbolt it?

Will i have to buy specific wheelsets to fit my forks etc....

Been looking at upgrading the wheelset, and seen some on superstars website, but not sure what i should order, options are 20mm adaptor or QR adaptor.

If the fork is a 20mm thru axle, then you need the wheelset to match ie be 20mm thru axle hub (or a hub than can be converted). Not all hubs can be converted.

I guess you have a Rockshox Recon with 20mm Maxle?

Yep, you want the 20mm front adaptor, and for the rear, the QR adaptor.

You're also going to need new 6 bolt rotors. Both disc fittings on the core 40 are centrelock.

If you do a youtube search for maxle 360 there's a pretty good video showing how/what it does, should clear things up.
