Fitting Avid disc brakes to a merlin malt 2

Hi hope I have posted this in the right room!
Can anyone tell me whether I can fit Avid Elixir R brakes (2011) 185/160mm IS front, to a 2007 Merlin Malt 2 with a Magura Vidar fork. I currently have Magura Julies on the bike but want to upgrade!
Also how difficult is it to actually fit a new set of brakes as I want to do the job myself but have never attempted anything like this before!

Yes, will fit with the right adaptors. Go to the Avid site first and downl;oad the fitting instructions.0

Cheers for the quick reply. Any idea what adapters I will need or would I get them all with the brakes?! Apologies if I seem like a complete dunce on the subject!0

It will say in the instructions;-). You need to identify what mounts are on your fork.
Many brakes are PM, and come with IS adaptors.0
