Hi there, I have a budget of no more than £250 and am looking for a set of forks for my Cube hardtail. Call me vain but I really want the forks to have gold tubes so that somewhat restricts me. I was looking at the Rockshox recon gold for £180 and thought I would ask you guys if there's better forks out there? I have had a look but everything seems so expensive...

If you sign up to Merlin's free VIP mebership you can get the 2011 Rockshox Reba RL for £269.00. I know this is over you your budget, but would be better than buying a 2006 fork.
