Hi Guys,

I'm a newbie on here but not to the sport. I have entered into an off road triathlon later this month and i want to reduce the front fork travel on my fox float forks, i have downloaded the workshop manual which show's you how to carry out this job.

I am an engineer for Bmw and have raced mountain bikes for many years, i have in the past changed oil and wiper seals on my boxxer forks which was simple enough.

Can anyone advise me if this is a job that can be carried out at home, using the correct tools and parts bought from a fox retailer?

Regards in advance

Yes, the manual shows you to add a number of spacers to the mechanics. There are a number of vids on the Mojo site, one of which covers this If my memory is correct.
Give Mojo a call and they will get you the parts you require.
You can replace the wiper seals and oil at the same time.
  • Cheers for your reply, I've seen the vids and also the parts they recommend changing, my only concern is.

    1) fox recommend 7wt oil? Is this rider weight specific?

    2) the amount of oil recommended? Is that rider weight specific?

If its a set amount and wt oil then that sorts my concerns, but if its rider weight and style specific then that makes things a little more awkward.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

1 and 2 - the damper is designed to work with a set weight and volume.
