Bought one of these and was just after some fitting advice.

The 3 bolts supplied (1 x64.5 2 x92mm)

Are you supposed to turn them all the away so that all the thread is inserted ?

Do you mean the 3 T shaped bolts with the square flat head?

Then no, not all the way.

    No.

If you screw the plastic handle bit right onto the bolt, it won't lock.

You need to have the plastic bit pointing upwards and screw it down onto the T-shaped bolt part way. You then need to flip the plastic handle bit down so it's horizontal which will lock the carrier into place.
If you can't flip the plastic lock down horizontally, you've got it too tight so you need to undo it a bit.

Hope this makes sense to you!

    Yes

Unless you have the cut out slot/track in the top side of the roof bars in which case you use the other bolts you should have in with the carriers which slide into the track/slot

Yes they are pretty damn secure.

I don't drive slowly and I have had no issues with the carriers at all

    yes they are

Just make sure that everything is tightened up correctly, drive a couple of miles and recheck everything is still tight

nope, didn't see the bit about the old bars with a bit of rust

It looks to be surface rust, have a bit of a prod round and see if anything has rotted through or the pins look thin and rusty

If anything looks like it's on it;s last legs and it isn't just surface rust replace them

if it is just surface rust get some rust remedy type stuff

Dude, why do you think it isn't secure?

With the bike all locked on, give it a good ooomf side to side etc and see how little or not at all it moves around, then go for a drive give it the beans and be amazed at how stable it is. I drive like I would do normally and don't notice the bike is attached to the roof one bit.

You see loads of 591's carting bikes about with no issues.

How do you fit two on and ensure that the tightening dial on the outside ?

Do you have to to one further in and then each right over ?

Originally I fitted the bar on the passenger side but the right was back to front !

    Please advise

just to be safe i always lock the clamp with the key to ensure it cannot come undone whilst driving, them i am quite confident to drive at motorway speeds with bikes clamped safely to bars.

The other option is to fit one facing forwards and one facing backwards!
