Carbon Bar?

Having spotted some potential damage to my current bar, I’m considering purchasing a new one. My bike is a year old Specialized Epic Comp and having got into racing this year, almost all of my riding is either races or race training so I’m starting to think about reducing weight on my bike. So when I’m thinking about a new bar I’m kind attempted to go down the Carbon route. My concern is that I currently weigh just under 14 stone, so I’m not light and I’ve heard things about carbon bars being easily damaged, need to be replaced every year or they become dangerous, you can’t tighten your shifters and stuff beyond a certain torque without damaging it Etc are they really as delicate as they sound? Should I just buy an Aluminum bar and accept the extra weight?

I’d really appreciate your advice.
