The fab people at the Forestry commission are having a consultation 'open drop in' meeting about the management strategy of the Wyre forest for the future years.
Its at the Wyre visitor centre between 3 and 7.30 on Wednesday 7th.
If people cannot attend to give there opinion on best usage then it asks them to call the Planning Forester - Alastair Semple at Cannock (His number is on the forestry commission web site)
Its hopefully a opportunity for the commission to get an idea of the size of usage of the Wyre by us and maybe make some noises in the right places for the commission to begin trying to accommodate us. As a local and professional using the wyre for my own fun and instruction i'm aware of the land ownership challenges regarding constructing a full on trail centre but there is already permitted trails given to horses and the challenges are not unique to the wyre. All that maybe required is enthusiasm on the part of the local foresters?
Being able to communicate the scale of the mountain bike community using the wyre to people who matter in the commission can only be positive for us and this is a chance to do that. :P
