Mmm rather agree with cooldad, Halfords were very rubbish on this occaision but whinging about setting up a kids bike on a bike forum isn't going to get you a lot of sympathy.It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

Do the work yourself, save the money and have it on time. Takes 20 minutes work, and even my wife can do it0

I just brought my daughter a bike from Halford's, one of these -

Ordered home delivery and to be honest I was expecting to have to spend a lot of time setting it all up.
All I had to do was attach the wheels, bars, seat post and that was it.
Gears and brakes perfect out of the box.0 -
