Mmm rather agree with cooldad, Halfords were very rubbish on this occaision but whinging about setting up a kids bike on a bike forum isn't going to get you a lot of sympathy.

Do the work yourself, save the money and have it on time. Takes 20 minutes work, and even my wife can do it

Just to add a bit of balance.

I just brought my daughter a bike from Halford's, one of these -

Ordered home delivery and to be honest I was expecting to have to spend a lot of time setting it all up.

All I had to do was attach the wheels, bars, seat post and that was it.

Gears and brakes perfect out of the box.
