These freeview channels are ona bit of a roll just now. in the last week we've had The Thing, Predator and now this other 80's gem.

Worth watching for the 'last of the V8 Interceptors - she sucks nitrous' Mad Max-mobile. And the bl00dy funny boomerang scene...

For me this is one of the few cases where the sequel is better than the original. The third one was pants though.

Maybe I was just around when it first came out (16 at the time and a bike (motorised) fanatic) and it blew me away. Probably was a low budget crappy movie but it stuck, like the real Death Race 2000.
    Good times.

Don't get me wrong, the original was v. good, especially for a film done on a relative shoestring. But they did a bl00dy good job on 2 (I admit I saw the sequel before the original - probably too young to see that first time round). Both great, but they should have stopped there.

Never knew you were into vintage films Jay (i.e. ones done way before you were born) You'll be telling us you watch black & white films next.

Sequel was excellent movie, agree the third one wasn't as good but Tina Turner was quite hot.

The first one was good, I'll grant, but the second one?

It had a profound influence on my life - my choice of sports, careeer, the cars I buy.

.....but I've never driven cross-country in a leather nappy and rent-boy straps

....aaaand neither do I want to.

There was no third film. It never happened.

Technically, the killing is a strictly non-professional thing for me. Couldn't afford the Union fees to go professional.

Boomerangs? When I throw a stick away, I want the f***er to stay gone!
