I've been using Map My Ride but I'm not sure its up to much - some of my routes haven't worked once on the machine etc.
Has anyone got any tips for an alternative site?
Thanks

+1 for Bikehike, tried a few and seems easiest to use IME0

Very easy to use, plot route and download straight to your Garmin, job done.0 -

bikehike for me
hopefully garmin connect will soon allow route planning - the site was updated a month ago to allow it - but the feature was removed after a few hours due to bugs.0 -
I used to use Bike Route Toaster but someone told me that Bike Hike allows you to create more course points than BRT so I used Bike Hike. Although BRT allows you to save routes on the website itself which may (or may not) be useful....Do not write below this line. Office use only.0

Bikeroutetoaster and ridewithgps are both fine. So why would you use one instead of the other??????
Bikeroutetoaster has a nice simple user interface and is good at doing the download to your Garmin, but I get errors when I try to download a long route - anything over c. 60 miles.
Ridewithgps works fine for longer routes but it doesn't have the option to give you directions to turn in advance of the junction. Fundamental gap for road riding! Also, the transfer of tcx file to the garmin is a bit cumbersome.0 -

Its good news that it works on an 800 cos I'm looking for excuses to replace my 7050
