HEy all.
This is a bit lame i know....
But i have a second hand bike, and i need to replace the tyres now.
The tyre currently on it is a 26x1.6 but it seems 1.6 tyres are a nightmare to find.
So i was wondering, can i go online and look for a larger one? Such as 1.95 or 2.1 ?
Also if i do this (and its ok on the rim) do i need to also use the same tube size? ie: if i get 2.1, will i get 2.1 tubes as well?
PS im looking for offroad, as i carry a heavy pannier...
Thanks for this.

Probably.
Tubes come in size ranges. Most will manage 2.1I don't do smileys.

Re Inner tubes;
Be careful with stated tyre width & actual tyre width when it comes to inner tubes. I have some Specialized tyres which say they are 2.0" so I got some 2.0-2.1" tubes - three punctures in three days! - the valve was being torn each time.
When I actually measured the tyre width it was nearer to 2.3"
I am now using 2.1-2.6" tubes and have had no problems"Why have that extra tooth if you're not using it?" - Brian Lopes
