brake lever reach

whats the general rule of thumb when it comes to brake reach as im getting pain in my hands and this is a contributing factor i belive. I know they will probably be a post on here somewhere about it but couldnt find any sorry.

    there is no rule as every one has different sized hands. try moving the lever closer.

    Have you moved your levers further in toward the middle of the handlebars? Most people still have them hard up against the grips when you could move them inboard and get your 1 or 2 fingers on the ends of the lever so giving more leverage. adjusting the span and angle of the levers will also help.
  • yip, if poss move your brakes further in and adjust your lever closer to your grip, decent hydraulic brakes will give you enough stopping power with one finger...
