Road Shoes Insoles

So I finally bit the bullet and bought the Shimano R077s from Evans (pricematched to fatbirds.co.uk).
Annoyingly the 43s (which were my old MTB spd shoes) were a bit too small and pinched at the front, so I went for the 44s. Annoyingly my feet seem to feel a bit narrow in these so I have a lot of 'up/down' movement within the shoe when pedalling, and was wondering about getting some insoles. Is this a mistake?
I was looking at the Sorbothane Full Strike ones.
Also, as 44 = 9.5, should I go for size 9 or 10 (if it is a good idea)

though you only get one pair of feet , i would cheekily try on lots of pairs at a shop then buy them elsewhere unless they are reasonably priced ,If you have worn them sell them . i used to push a 57 chainring on a 12 to 21 for 3 years when i was younger ,my knees are now not very good any more because of it ,so look after your feet mate

Don't mean to be rude, but not 100% sure what you mean....
Knees/feet?
I'm just wondering if
- the insoles would help the fit
- is it OK to have a soft 'under foot' or
- is it better to have the stiff sole of the shoe against the sole of your foot.
Anyone else do something similar, or should I sell these and get a better fitting pair.0 -

Just to give you some helpful advice...
If you can afford another pair, get the fit right first time and eBay your other ones.
Otherwise, as long as you don't have sideways movement in the shoe, using insoles should be fine and you can always use different thickness socks.Summer - Dolan Tuono with Sram Force and Dura-Ace 7850 CL Carbon wheels
